Message In A Bottle

in june the glossybox-team promised to send us the box like a message in a bottle. as a matter of fact the glossybox design was different, which i really liked. the outer parts of the box are off-white like sand, while the inner parts are blue like the ocean. while the box really looks like summer, the products don't seem summer related. i was expecting a sun blocker or maybe hair products expecially used during summer time. but apart from the clearasil facial peeling i like every product.

like a summer breeze!
i don't really like clearasil. facial peelings like these leave your skin dry.
another facial cream. i haven't found the perfect one yet anyway.
a mask! i love running around the house looking like a ghost! <3
i think my third nailpolish from glossybox.at even though i didn't want to have any nailpolishes. ^^ but it's fine. i love the color! it perfectly fits suntanned skin.
i'm looking forward to using this l'oréal eyeshadow.
a true luxury product.
one glass ampoule for every day.
lasts for a week.
i might hurt myself when opening that thing. xD clumsy me...

if you like reading my blog stay updated via my new facebook page!

hugs and kisses,

s

Witch's Brew

july 7th. lieblingsflohmarkt. a woman and a man brewing frozen yoghurt with liquid nitrogen. liquid nitrogen is non-toxic, odorless and colorless and can therefore be used for freezing and transporting food. it boils at almost -200°C and causes severe frostbites upon contact. all the more impressive when you think about the potential and danger that emanates from this liquid.

pictures taken by me and my sister.

Indian Dish #1

i've been a vegetarian for almost 2 years now and ever since i stopped eating meat and fish, i've been more creative when it comes to cooking. especially indian cuisine offers many vegetarian dishes using different spices and vegetables. yesterday i tried my first indian dish and it turned out quite well. so i thought i'd share the recipe with you.

potatoes with curry and poppy seeds*:

750 g potatoes
3 jalapeno peppers
fresh ginger (4 cm)
5 tablespoons white poppy seeds
5 tablespoons mustard oil
1 1/2 teaspoons curcuma powder
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon chili powder

tomato and cucumber salad*:

1 cucumber
as much tomatoes as you want
1 onion
300 g yoghurt
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon oil
salt, pepper

*ingredients for about 3 people

wash, peel and cut the potatoes into pieces. wash and cut the fresh jalapeno peppers (just a tip: use gloves! i didn't and washing your hands with soap a multiple times afterwards doesn't help. it hurt a lot when i took out my contact lenses...). peel and grate the ginger. you can use a mortar for the poppy seeds but it didn't really work when i tried it. roast potatoes for 5 minutes in mustard oil. add jalapeno peppers, ginger, curcuma powder, paprika and chili powder. roast for 3 minutes (turn down the heat!). add one cup of water and cook for 5 minutes (turn up the heat). add white poppy seeds and cook for 10 minutes (low heat). as a side dish i used rice. for the salad: wash and cut the vegetables and mix with yoghurt, cumin powder, oil, salt and pepper.

enjoy your meal!

xoxo, S

Insta-Love

i know, i know, too many iphone pictures in one post. ^^ but for most photos i used the smallest size. but you can still click on each picture to view it in its original dimensions.

i need to put this on my wall better sooner than later.
frappuccino.
starbucks overdose. xD

we went to the podium discussion and opening of joel sternfeld's exhibition at the albertina.
ready to meet my best friend!
the plan was to eat breakfast at the 25 hours hotel.
but the breakfast buffet was too expensive. the view from the terrace was nice though.
s ordered a special iced tea.
where can i buy such a patio umbrella?!
view from the hotel.
i don't even need a bouquet of flowers. one flower is enough. :)
picnic with s.
i wish coconut juice wasn't so expensive...
i keep forgetting the name of the indian restaurant i went with c but the food was fantastic! that's why i tried an indian recipe yesterday. :)
june glossybox.
my short-term memory is non-existent. xD i noticed that there were different designs but forgot about that in an instant.
during holidays i finally find enough spare time to bake cakes and try out new recipes.
it was my dad's birthday cake.
summer breakfast.
new favorite breakfast side dish: plain yoghurt, fruits and breakfast cookies.
i keep telling myself that these cookies are healthy. :D
had to work till 4 am.
received a beautiful rose for free from the flower seller.
taking the train to vienna. i hate to see train seats in pictures.
lieblingsflohmarkt (favorite flea market). i was disappointed by the clothes they sold (h&m, zara, mango... seriously? i don't need cheap used clothes) and by the prices (23€ for a small handmade bracelet which i can make myself in less than 5 minutes). however, the frozen yoghurt made with liquid nitrogen was delicious.
it's so easy to get dressed in summer. shorts, tank top and flip flops.
i don't know about you but i love having a glass of (sparkling) wine for dinner.
mole west. looking at the sea... ah, lake. oupsi. i got a little bit confused. ;) the salty smell was missing though...
i'm sad? give me some cheese, grapes and a glass of wine.
hopefully not my last visit at mole west this summer...
