she is like the weather

i really enjoy living in the 21st century. i am sitting on the bus back to vienna and this bus has a wifi-zone. for me eurolines was the cheapest, easiest, most comfortable and as you now see most modern way to travel.

i do not understand how one cannot travel alone. it is such a fulfilling experience. this bus drive makes me want to go to the states, buy a greyhound ticket and travel across the whole country. of course, it is also quite nice to have a companion but nothing compares to travelling on your own. and you will always meet people while you are on the road. travelling alone does not necessarily mean you will feel lonely. however, being in a relationship makes things more complicated but this should not stop you.

most days in prague were cloudy and sometimes even rainy. i guess the best spring travel season for praha is may. it was sunny and warm when i boarded the bus...

i would have liked to stay longer in the czech republic. i cannot not love prague. or maybe i would be happy going somewhere else now besides my home country. i feel more myself while travelling than in real life.
the whole point of this post is probably to show you that i really appreciate my modern life. most essential travel equipment: my iphone, my ipod, something to read.

it is not going back to austria that i dread but going back to reality. tomorrow will be easy going: shopping at h&m (fashion against aids collection will launch), maybe eating ice cream in the 1st district, checking out the tommy hilfiger event. but after that it is work, work, probably surf worldcup on sunday, preparing a stupid presentation, reading a scholarly book and writing a book review (this is something i render completely unnecessary). at least i will be occupied and i will not have time to think about stupid things. oh, and i want to get a small table, two chairs and a vase for my balcony to cherish my favorite seasons: spring and summer!

i hope to be able to take some pictures tomorrow evening. and the new glossybox is also almost on the way to my doorstep.

xoxo, s

prague days are over

i am leaving tomorrow. today i was strolling the city one last time taking everything in... the streets, the flowers, the churches, the cafés, the architecture, the people. i do not know why i get all sentimental when it comes to leaving foreign places.

letná and vltava river.

in prague there is something beautiful around every corner.

prague is said to be the city of 100 towers...

on top of the city hall tower on a sunny afternoon.

picture was already taken on sunday. d, her friends and i went to a fashion market hosted in a vacant building.

it was such a nice market with many creative self-made products: clothes, jewellery, bags.

i went to café louvre today because d's friend recommended it to me.

i could not find the café in my lonely planet, which really is a shame.

the café was opened in 1902 and today they serve tasty cakes, coffee and traditional czech dishes.

i ordered viennese coffee at café louvre in prague. this is the ultimate combination. :D

the cake was mouth-watering but the piece could have been smaller... i felt kind of full after eating the whole thing alone.

according to d's friend café louvre is a perfect place to enjoy breakfast. next time when i am in praha, i will go there again.

can you see the dancing house?

i do not know about you but i love dancing.

when i walked across one bridge i saw about 10 swans from the distance.

when i got there two of them kindly stayed. :)

looking at the swans made me feel peaceful and happy. weird, isn't it?

swan lake.

they sure do take time to clean their feathers. hehe.

my favorite.

life is much more colorful in spring even when it is cloudy.

memorial to the victims of communism.

iphone pictures

charles bridge.

it must look like this in japan...

kavarna obecni dum. i was there last friday.

propably the most breathtaking café i visited in prague.

live music.

they served the best coffee with lots of milk foam. <3

chandeliers make me go awww!

when i am back home i need to buy a nice new vase and flowers....

after going to h&m for three times i finally bought the damn skirt.

music auditorium rudolfinum: home of the czech philharmonic orchestra.

this reminds me of hundertwasser somehow...

it looks unimpressive from the outside. but do not let yourself by fooled by a simple covering. never.

because things inside might be beautiful.

i would have liked to take a picture like that myself. or is this photoshopped?!

tulips.

street art.

our room.

me.

flower power.

to long for something is a sufficient reason to live. jaroslav vrchlicky.

things i bought so far

at sephora i bought matching nail polish and lipstick. i was kind of desperate to at least get something new. xD i love the color! it kind of screams: i am a diva. wearing a lipstick like that makes you stick out in any crowd.

manufaktura is my new favorite shop in prague. they sell cosmetics, wooden toys and traditional crafts. moreover, they try to use natural ingredients (from the czech republic) and what is very important do not test on animals! vegetable oils are preferred over mineral oils (huge plus) and no sulfates, petroleum products, allergenes, dyes, PEG emulgators or parabens are used.

i had to buy a new lip balm even though i got one from s for easter. the body shop lemon lip balm does not really work for my lips when they are extremely dry. i just love this balm from manufaktura and the ingredients do soften my lips quite quickly.

as i love travelling (it is probably my favorite thing to do), i can always use a mug that will not break. this one is made out of enamel. i took a porcelain cup with me to prague and broke it a few days ago. see, i knew beforehand that this manufaktura mug was made for me!

the nail file i own, no, the nail file i use from home is, to be honest, disgusting. it looks old-fashioned and ugly. the minute i saw this nail file i knew i had to get it. this is my personal nail file! and it is not even made out of metal, so i hope that detectors at the airport will not see it in my bag. :D is it only metal they can see? might have to ask m about that.

this is seriously the best summer shampoo! cocktail smell and uv filter. cannot wait to test it.

nice wooden comb that cannot be used for wet hair. ^^ it failed completely. at least it was cheap

some postcards i wrote! now you can guess which one is yours. hehe. jin's and my bf's postcard are not on the picture. pssst, they are in an envelope that i had closed already.

i have always wanted to read this book. i was thinking about buying and not-buying the book for days. when i finally bought it i felt so proud and inspired. unfortunately, after reading the first chapters i realized that i had already read that book before. i am the most forgetful person in the whole world. how could i not remember that i read the book two years ago?! at least i borrowed it last time. now i own my private copy of this great piece of literature.
