long weekend love

long weekends are great but eating out in the morning is even greater! that's why we went to café landtmann about 1 week ago.

however, i was very disappointed. honestly, i don't like their breadbasket-method: you get a basket full of bread and take what you want. at the end you only pay the amount of buns you ate. i am pretty sure that the half-empty basket is filled up for the next one. therefore, it's likely that i will be eating buns someone else has already touched.

what's more, m saw a young waiter dropping a croissant and the boy picked it up and put it back on the tray. ^^

then we went to the farmers market at the freyung.

the market is extremely small. so don't expect too much. but they sell everything from vegetables/fruits, soaps and cheese to wine, honey and herbs. the market is open every week on saturday and i think also on friday from 9 am - 6 pm.

the weather was amazing and we also went to schönbrunn.

i like being busy. and taking pictures of special moments makes me feel positive about my life. i'm a pessimist but looking at my blog makes me realize i'm really blessed.

in case anyone of you was wondering: i edited these pictures with polarfox! take an ugly picture and make it look nice! :D not that my pictures would look ugly... but i know a lot of people who seem to be unable to take aesthetic photos.

asparagus season

ever since i tried asparagus i've been a huge fan of that vegetable but i've never cooked it myself. that's why my boyfriend and i drove 35 km northwards where the best asparagus is supposed to grow.

in gerasdorf the family owned farm trimmel sells seasonable vegetables and fruits.

you cannot only buy asparagus and strawberries, but also locally produced wine, jam and honey.

i went for a bottle of rosé. so far i've never been disappointed by this type of wine. must be the nice color. haha.

when i see these strawberries i want to go to erdbeerland instantly. there i would eat 5 kilos of strawberries while picking.

i should have bought rhubarb... for over a month i've been thinking about baking a rhubarb cake for the first time in my life. then i get the chance to buy rhubarb and i don't. what is wrong with me? ^^

cooked asparagus. it tasted delicious and it was so easy to make! i'm quite impressed. the only drawback: it took us 1 1/2 hours to get the asparagus.

a few days ago hundreds of facebook fans were invited to the pre-opening of the albertina's new contemporary art exhibition.

s and i are art-lovers. so this event was perfect for us and the entry was for free.

my sister also came along.

i was wearing my new unisa shoes but unfortunately... they suck. that's why i will never ever buy shoes with heels again. xD i tried them at the store and they fit perfectly. some mad voodoo is going on here, i swear.

after having a glass of wine and some puddings we went downstairs to look at the albertina's most recent acquisitions from contemporary art. 120 works are displayed, however, i only like a handful of them including paintings by gerhard richter and kenton nelson. if you are interested in contemporary art the exibition will be open until august 19th.

mango shopping night

two weeks ago my sister, my mom and i went to an exclusive shopping event at mango in vienna.

all guests were served drinks and the best was: minus 20% on the whole spring/summer collection!

there also was a l'oreal style corner.

 we got our make-up done.

and the make-up artist gave us some beauty advice. i still need to buy this l'oreal eye shadow... a brownish violet (it just fits my eyes and complexion perfectly).

i think my sister and my mom were very satisfied with this shopping event. they almost bought the whole store. :D i, however, wanted to buy white shorts and sandals but ended up with a jeans skirt. it's always the same.
