welcome at tommy's!

on april 26th i had the chance to attend a special event at the tommy hilfiger store in vienna. the event was hosted in collaboration with wienerin (my all time favorite fashion magazine) and the aim was to present the new promise collection. 

this collection was produced in africa for africa. 100 % of the proceeds are dedicated to ruhiira, a village in uganda where approximately 50 000 people live.

i knew from the start that i had to buy something. not only because the money i spend will be used for a good cause but also because i really like the collection: the designs, the colors and especially the patterns!

the event was organised neatly and we were warmly welcomed. there was a dj and the guests were served delicious drinks, sparkling wine and exotic juices, and after some time also mouth-watering fingerfood, like peanut soup, mini-schnitzel in a coat of coconut rasps and vegetables with polenta (my choice as a vegetarian).

that's the scarf i lost my heart to and bought. it's great how the color conveys a maritime feeling and the pattern an african touch. 2 in 1 i would say. this scarf can pimp any simple outfit and is therefore the perfect accessory for breezy summer days.

of course, tommy also sold regular articles at the event.

to be honest, i have the sweetest tooth ever. suprise me by baking a cake and i might love you ever after.

at the end i would like to say thank you tommy hilfiger and wienerin for making this evening so unforgettable. i wore the scarf for the first time today and i don't want to take it off anymore! besides, this collection has raised my awareness even more. if i could i would only buy clothes, cosmetics, etc. which were produced under fair and humane conditions. what's more: now i want to travel to the "real" africa sooner than later - morocco doesn't count. ;)

the promise collection by tommy hilfiger

tommy hilfiger is launching a new promise collection and i got an invitation to their exklusive store event on april, 26 in vienna. i am really looking forward to the collection because 100 % of the proceeds from these clothes are committed to ruhiira, a village in uganda. thanks to my bf i have become more aware of injustice and environmental pollution on our only planet. unfortunately, i am a girl in love with fashion and most of our clothing is produced by women in developing countries. these women have to work for hours under horrible conditions and their reward is close to nothing. fashion designers creating collections for a really good cause are rare and fashion designers who donate all profits to the people who made the clothes are almost non existent. so this promise collection is really special and i will buy at least one piece on april 26. of course, i will take pictures of the event for you. if you are also interested in helping the people from ruhiira, go this website: click me!
